ram·ble/ˈrambəl/
verb
1.walk for pleasure, typically without a definite route.
2.talk or write at length in a confused or inconsequential way.

My name is Jonathan Bean.

3 years ago I was one of the very last people to get approved for a thing called the Deferred Salary Leave Program at the provincial crown corporation where I work.  When I agreed to bank a percentage of my pay in exchange for eventual time off I didn't know exactly what I was going to do with that time aside from (very generally) travelling the world.

Now, July 17th 2014, I'm working my last standard day of work before I get 13.5 consecutive months away from my day job.  I've saved enough to live on, enough to travel on, and will be using this space to share my thoughts on the adventure that I'm deliberately taking.

My life will inevitably change.  13.5 months is a long time.

Right now this place is a placeholder - only enough that you know it's actually me.  I'll be posting here, adding photos and content as I travel and as I get more distance from the consistent schedule that has been so central to my life.  It's not much to look at now, but I promise, it'll grow.

Not everyone gets to do this, and I'm grateful for the chance.  Saying that I'm lucky is an understatement.
